My First Time Voting, Proposition 8, and President Obama

Posted on November 05, 2008 by d3so

I have no specific comments I would like to address regarding the outcome of the Presidential Election. It should have been apparent to you that victory was inevitable for Obama.  Change will come for the better and hopefully not the worst.

Congratulations to President Obama!

Congratulations on voting your first time. Keep it up. It is one way that you can get your voice heard.

On another note – I had never seen this theme before yesterday when one of my contacts upgraded his site using this theme – now seen it twice within a day. Small blogosphere!

Thanks! I never really took an interest to voting because I’ve always had the mindset that our votes are just suggestions to the electoral college, whose votes count.

Yeah, this theme is really innovative and I’ve seen your theme as well (The white makes it look clean). My cousin uses it on his blog but with the original colors.

Congrats on voting! I voted also, this election was too exciting not to and I’m from Chicago so had to show my support for our Illinois Senator now President Elect!

Hi there… I’m an Aussie – so no voting in the US for me… but I do like to keep up to date.
So thanks for the post and the extracts you included. The extracts were a geat way to lead-in to your own opinion.

One questions… I was wondering what you thought about couples who are not religious and marry with the ‘blessing of the state’ – no church ceremony, no priest – just the court house for example? Wouldn’t this senario be the the same as homosexual marrage?

Are they therefore “disrespecting a religious practice” like you stated?

    Food for thought *grin*

    You state a good point.
Personally, I have no problem with marriages that are married in court. Just as long as the marriage isn’t planned to gain financial or legal benefits.
As I see it, the true ideals and values of marriage are being defaced due to the media and the entertainment industry. I believe the reason why Gay-Marriage wasn’t accepted was because it seemed to be a significant change in society and others would view it as immoral.
