I know that this should’ve been my first post for the new year, but I was heavily debating whether I should make this list a post or a page on this blog. I decided to turn it into a post since I’m going to have many goals I would like to achieve. Everyone should have a written list of goals so you can keep track. Keeping them in your head will do little to help.
Keep your goals realistic
Most of us like to dream big and go on to setting goals that are nearly impossible to achieve. You have to be realistic. Start small, and once you’ve achieved small goals you can go on to set more ambitious goals. The point is to help build confidence in yourself. You don’t want to set impossible goals and end up achieving none of them. The failure will bring doubt and that will kill your motivation. Set goals to succeed, don’t set goals to fail.
After you accomplish a goal (a meaningful goal), be sure to reward yourself even when you don’t feel like it. It’s essential to reward yourself when you deserve it to gain satisfaction from your work. Being a workaholic isn’t a good thing. Take time to relax and enjoy life. Isn’t that the ultimate goal in life? Just don’t overindulge. This will form a lazy habit that might be difficult to get out of.
My Goals for 2011:
- Build a strong readership.
- Build my mailing list and optimize it effectively so that it’s profitable.
- Reach 1,000 visitors daily.
- Increase blog income to $1,000 a month.
- Increase affiliate income to $2,000 a month.
- Guest post at least once a month on different blogs.
- Reach top 100,000 on Alexa.
- Increase PageRank to 4.
- Update logo.
- Update tagline/slogan (maybe).
Those are goals I hope to reach by the end of this year. I believe they’re pretty realistic. Definitely challenging since I only spend a limited amount of time working on my blog. Achieving all this would certainly be astounding and I will certainly do my best to. I’m pretty sure that there’s more to add to the list but I suppose what’s on there now should keep me busy. Now, that I’ve shared my goals, what are some goals you would like to achieve this year?
