Site Meter – Track Your Visitors and Get Site Statistics
Posted on April 12, 2010 by d3so
It’s been awhile since I’ve used Site Meter but it looks like nothing has changed; as you see I’ve inserted the button on my footer. I haven’t used their premium service but their basic service is worth using especially if you have a blog. Site Meter is more than your usual visitor counter. They track your visitors within the last hour and even their average visit length. The system even logs the page visits per visitor. What’s really neat is that Site Meter does “Traffic Prediction“, a prediction of future traffic based on the visitors you’ve had in the last hour, day, week, or month. The best part is that Site Meter is FREE for basic users. I fully recommend this to all bloggers and webmasters. It goes without saying, go check out Site Meter now!

I've used Google Analytic to track my site's visitor. Which one is better? Thank you

I recommend you use both. I believe all trackers are not 100% accurate and it's a good measure to use more than one. Based on the various results you can draw an average.

You're right. Best to use a couple different trackers. I used to use awstats on cpanel as my only traffic tracker. I thought my site was getting 1200 visitors a day. When I started using analytics, I realized awstats didn't filter out the bot traffic.

I used analytics first and took a look @ awstats and noticed the same thing.

I love site meter, probably a bit too much – it makes it fun to check one's stats, esp. when you're getting traffic from a variety of sources.
Agreed with you entirely; this is too good a product not to have on the blog.

I'm using wassup software built by a local Seattle guy.
Search in the footer of my site for his info–if you want to give it a try. Great guy…his name is Nathan.
Thanks for the great info on this site.
